About Atelier Mela

Atelier Mela is an independent publication founded in March 2026 by photographer Mela Laval. French by origin. Shaped by a life lived everywhere, Paris, Los Angeles, and all the places in between.
It exists for one reason: to protect a space for real creation.
In a culture where images travel faster than ideas, originality is often diluted, copied, and repackaged as content. Social media rewards speed, repetition, and visibility — not depth.
This publication moves in the opposite direction.
Atelier Mela is where the work lives before it becomes noise.
Here you will find photography, visual studies, reflections on the creative process, and fragments of the world that inspire the images. Sometimes polished, sometimes raw, often unfinished — because creation is rarely linear.
This is not a place for trends. It is a place for exploration, intuition, and personal language.
Supporting Atelier Mela means supporting independent artistic work — the slow, demanding process behind images that are meant to last longer than a scroll.
If you are here, it means you value creation enough to step outside the algorithm.
